Embroidery

A premium finish, built to last the life of the garment

Embroidery is the most hard-wearing way to wear your brand. Stitched into the fabric rather than printed on top, it won't crack, peel or fade, and it carries a premium, professional finish that lifts how your team looks and how your brand is read.

Where embroidery is the right call

  • Premium presentation: corporate, hospitality and healthcare uniforms where perception matters.
  • Long-term durability: holds its finish through repeated commercial and domestic washing.
  • The right garments: polos, business shirts, jackets, knitwear, caps and bags, in structured, mid-to-heavyweight fabrics.
  • Clean, confident logos: solid shapes and clean lines reproduce best in thread.

For detailed, photographic or full-colour logos, Supacolour Premium DTF holds finer detail than thread can.

Executed correctly, every time

Our artwork team prepares your logo for stitching and confirms it on a proof before anything goes into production. Once it's set up, we keep it on record and reproduce it identically on every reorder, so your branding stays consistent as your team grows.

Your recommended embroidery size

Your recommended embroidery size and a coverage map will appear here once you upload your logo or artwork and select Recommend Embroidery Size.

This is a recommendation to help you choose a logo or artwork size. It assumes standard digitising at the selected detail level. The final size is determined by the number of stitches in the logo or artwork which is confirmed when your artwork is digitised, and can change with stitch type, underlay, fabric and the digitiser's settings. Our artwork team reviews every order and will contact you before production if anything needs adjusting.

Thread choice affects both the look and the longevity of your embroidered logo. We stitch with premium Madeira and Marathon threads, chosen for their colour fastness and their ability to hold up through repeated commercial laundering and daily wear.

With hundreds of colour options available, we colour-match your thread to your Pantone references or supplied artwork, so we are sure to find the right fit for your brand on every garment and every reorder.

Beyond standard colours, we can specify neon, metallic, multi-colour, and flame resistant threads to suit your branding and your environment.

  • Classic colours: the core range for everyday brand and uniform embroidery
  • Neon colours: high-visibility, high-impact finishes for standout branding
  • Metallic threads: a premium metallic sheen for logos that need to lift off the garment
  • Multi-colour threads: variegated threads that shift through multiple tones in a single design
  • Flame resistant threads: for hi-vis, industrial, and other high-risk environments where garment compliance matters

We’ve branded uniforms for tens of thousands of organisations across Australia. To streamline the ordering process, we offer a range of standard artwork placements and sizes, all detailed in our Artwork Placement Guide below. If you require something different, our team can also assist with custom placements and sizing options.

Your Questions, Answered

How long does embroidery last?

Embroidery is the most hard-wearing decoration we offer. The design is stitched into the fabric rather than printed on top, so it won't crack, peel or fade, and it typically lasts the life of the garment through repeated commercial and domestic washing.

Can you match my exact brand colours in thread?

We match your logo to our embroidery thread range as closely as possible, and for most brand colours the match is excellent. Thread is selected from a fixed range rather than mixed to an exact Pantone, so very specific shades are matched to the nearest available thread. Our artwork team confirms the thread colours on your proof before production. For exact colour match, we recommend using Supacolour Premium DTF

Is there a limit to how much detail you can embroider?

Embroidery reproduces solid shapes and clean lines beautifully, but very fine detail, thin lines and small text have practical limits because each element is formed from stitches. As a guide, very small text and intricate detail may not reproduce cleanly. If your logo is highly detailed, our team will advise the best approach or recommend a print method better suited to fine detail.

Which garments and products can be embroidered?

Most of our range suits embroidery, including polos, business shirts, jackets, vests, caps, beanies and bags. It works best on structured and mid-to-heavyweight fabrics. Very thin, stretchy or technical performance fabrics can be less suitable, in which case our team will recommend an alternative such as DTF or screen print.

Will the embroidery look exactly like my printed logo?

It will be a faithful, premium version of your logo with a distinctive stitched texture. Because embroidery is thread rather than ink, effects like gradients, drop shadows, photographic detail and very fine text don't translate directly and are adapted for stitching. Our artwork team optimises your logo for the best embroidered result and shows you a proof before we proceed.

Once my logo is set up, do you reuse it for future orders?

Yes. Once your logo is digitised into an embroidery file, we keep it on record and reuse it for your future orders, so your branding stays identical every time you reorder ... and no Artwork Setup Fee applies for that configuration.

Can I approve how my logo will look before the full order is produced?

Yes. You'll receive a hi-res artwork proof (see Sample Artwork Proof) to approve before anything goes into production, so you can confirm the placement, size and thread colours. We don't proceed until you're happy.

Can you embroider garments I supply myself?

We don't decorate customer-supplied garments. Everything we embroider comes from our own range, which keeps quality, sizing and colour consistent and means we stand behind the finished product end to end. With over 200,000 variants across Australia's leading brands, our team will help you find the right fit for your team.
